Thank you for the section of the essay about a running a consistency test on one's advocacy re s.3. That certainly got me thinking.

My take on the UCP govts action is that they hadn't been arsed to negotiate in good faith. At all. The use of the not-withstanding clause is pure overkill. The imposition of a 4 year contract and withdrawal of collective bargaining rights will be challenged in the courts, non-withstanding clause be damned.

She and her govt are immune to all expressions of public outrage. The only check on the UCP is the result of the next provincial election. She and her party currently enjoy a slim 7 seat majority. I will be working as hard as I can, as will many others, to whittle that down - be damned the efforts to gerrymander provincial election boundaries.

Stange, I found this on a google search.

Yes, the Alberta government has announced a pilot program to provide capital funding for independent school construction, although specific details are still pending. The government has previously committed a one-time investment of $100 million for a school growth fund that would offer forgivable loans for independent school capital expenses like construction.

Pilot or not, they are funding capital expenses for independent schools. Too bad other businesses don't get offered forgivable loans too. I think my point is made. And bye the bye, I am a cerificated Teacher, long since retired. Feel free to google the topic yourself. Have a good day.
